TAASAN NEWS: 13th April 2023, Security officials in the United States said today, April 13, that they arrested a member of the National Guard Air Force on suspicion of disclosing classified and sensitive government documents, including sensitive information about the war in Ukraine.

US Attorney General Myrick Garland announced that the arrest was in connection with an investigation into the "extraction, retention, and transfer" of classified national defense information.

Garland identified the suspect as Jack Teixeira, who is reportedly 21 years old and is believed to be the leader of an online chat group from which classified documents were first leaked. The US Attorney General confirmed that Teixeira is an employee of the Air National Guard, and today he was quietly arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Massachusetts.

The National Guard member is scheduled to appear in Massachusetts District Court.

According to the Washington Post report, Teixeira, who was active in this group under the name "OG," first told other group members that he works in a place where the use of mobile phones and other electronic devices is prohibited.

He then wrote some of the documents of Secret in this group and shared the pictures with the members of the group, asking them not to share them with others.

According to reports, the United States is considering removing these documents from the Internet.
